The ACC is changing its baseball tournament to a single-elimination format following a proposal by the league's head coaches that was supported by the athletes.

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has announced a format change to its annual baseball tournament. Starting this season, the event will feature all 16 teams in the ACC and will have single elimination games. Previously, the top 12 teams would compete in pool play for the championship.

The Atlantic Coast Conference is changing how it decides its baseball champion. On Wednesday, the conference announced the tournament will be a 16-team, single-elimination tournament. The tournament will still last for six days in May.
