A small Bering Air plane that crashed with 10 people on board in Alaska has been located, authorities have said. The US Coast Guard said the aircraft was discovered around 34 miles southeast of Nome in western Alaska and that it believed there were no survivors.

The search continues Friday for a small plane that went missing in Alaska, with 10 people on board. The Bering Air flight was traveling from the village of Unalakleet to Nome when it was reported missing at around 4 p.m. local time Thursday, according to the Alaska Department of Public Safety, State Troopers.

The Bering Air plane lost contact as it flew over a remote part of Alaska. Nine passengers and one pilot are currently unaccounted for as fears grow for the group.
