Losing at home for the first time in nine months is upsetting, the desperate form of Alexander Isak, though, is arguably far more troubling for Newcastle United.

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is back in contention for Saturday's home game against Brighton. Newcastle are just two points off the top four in the Premier League but will be looking to Isak to help them get back to winning ways after he missed draws against Manchester City and Everton with a broken toe.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has provided a positive update in regards to star striker Alexander Isak. The Sweden international has missed Newcastle’s last three games due to a broke toe but the Fantasy Premier League ( FPL) favourite could return for the club’s clash with Brighton on Saturday.

Kieran Trippier will miss the remainder of Newcastle United’s October fixtures with a hamstring problem, but Alexander Isak is set to return against Brighton & Hove Albion. Trippier was forced off in the 71st minute of Newcastle’s 0-0 draw at Everton before the international break and will be out for “a few weeks”,

Isak and Anthony Gordon - two players Howe is keen to retain well into the future, provided Newcastle’s main attacking thrust. Sweden forward Isak linked play well and looked relatively sharp despite being unable to beat Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, when he was sent through on goal.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that Alexander Isak is set to be involved this weekend against Brighton, and Callum Wilson is close to a return. Isak has been out with a broken toe for three games but has been back in training and is due to return to the Magpies team as long as he comes through training with no problems on Friday.
