Canada's services economy deteriorated for the second straight month in January as uncertainty generated by the threat of U.S. trade tariffs offset lower borrowing costs, S&P Global's Canada services PMI data showed on Wednesday.

The seasonally adjusted HSBC India Services Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), compiled by S&P Global, fell to 56.5 in January, its lowest since November 2022, on the back of lower demand and a softer increase in sales and output.
