Smile 2 continues to grin from ear to ear as it officially surpasses the first movie’s record at the box office. Similar to its predecessor, Smile 2 debuted to favorable reviews. As of this writing, the horror feature boasts an 85% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes — considerably higher than the first film.

Turn those box office frowns upside down, because “Smile 2,” the sequel to Paramount’s surprise horror hit, is opening this weekend. The film, written and directed once again by Parker Finn, has made $2.

Paramount’s Smile 2 made $2.5M from previews last night at 3,000 locations, which is half million higher than the 2022’s movies $2M preview figure. Today, the sequel opens on 3,619 screens. The film is certified fresh with an 85% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and PostTrak exits from fans last night are at 3 1/2 stars and 71% positive.
