Billionaire investor Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A) has continued to buy shares in the broadcasting and radio company SiriusXM (NASDAQ:SIRI), adding more than 1.5M shares to push its stake above 32% this week.

Berkshire hiked its bet after Liberty Media completed its deal in early September to combine its tracking stocks with the rest of the entertainment company.

But Buffett (or one of his fellow managers) is buying at least one stock for Berkshire Hathaway shareholders based on required filings with the SEC. Over the last few years, Buffett had some predictable stock purchases, but even those might not be so reliable in today's market.

This followed Liberty Media's tracking stocks with SiriusXM in early September and a restructuring of Malone's media assets while also spinning out the Atlanta Braves a company in which Berkshire owns stakes.

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway now has a stake of about 32.5% in Sirius XM’s publicly traded stock, having become the top holder last month.

Warren Buffett’s company apparently is taking advantage of the weakness in the stock, which is down 50% this year.

Warren Buffett has been buying shares of Sirius XM Holdings. Between Oct. 9 and Oct. 11, Berkshire Hathaway purchased an additional 3,564,059 shares of Sirius XM for $86.7 million. This increased its stake in the company to 32.
