Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, best known for her role as Shan Cai in "Meteor Garden," has passed away. She was 48.

Hsu died of pneumonia after contracting influenza during a trip to Japan. Friends and colleagues such as Jacky Wu, Lin Chi-ling and Christine Fan expressed their sadness over her death.
