District 5 champion Bishop McCort burst into the quarterfinals of the PIAA Class 2A wrestling duals tournament on a big night for star wrestler Bo Bassett Tuesday. Bishop McCort downed Corry 58-12 to advance to conclusion of the Pa. team tournament this Friday and Saturday in Atloona.

Bo Bassett, the No. 1 wrestling recruit in the Class of 2026, officially knows where he is going to wrestle in college. On Tuesday night, the Bishop McCort junior committed to Iowa over Penn State, Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech.

Penn State wrestling recruiting target Bo Bassett, the No. 1 wrestler from his class, has made his decision. It was down to Penn State, Oklahoma State, Iowa and Virginia Tech. Bassett chose Iowa, he announced on FloWrestling after pinning a guy in 18 seconds.

After the Crushers crushed Corry 58-12 in just under 50 minutes, Bassett gave a short speech to the large Johnstown crowd, citing his faith and where God was leading him, and he decided on the Iowa Hawkeyes. He chose Iowa over Oklahoma State, Penn State and Virginia Tech.
