A 23-year-old was charged with murder after eyewitness accounts had him shoot his fleeing uncle with a shotgun, according to New York State Troopers.

State police said Nikolai S. Tazin, of New City, Rockland County, was involved in a physical fight at a property on Hicks Road in Warren sometime before 8 a.m. Sunday. Troopers said Tazin's uncle — 50-year-old Andrey M.

TOWN OF WARREN, N.Y. -- State Police tell NEWSChannel 2 they have a suspect in custody in a homicide investigation in Herkimer County. There was a large police presence along Hicks Road in the Town of Warren, as well as along State Route 167 at Jordanville Road.

Investigators said one person was killed on Hicks Road at about 8 a.m. Sunday. Investigators said the suspected killer is in custody. The identities of those involved and the circumstances of the homicide have not yet been released.
