Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Israel on Tuesday, the first stop on his latest tour of the Middle East to try to de-escalate tensions in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. Blinken is expected to make another attempt at brokering a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas and explore a diplomatic resolution to Israel’s war against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Blinken will discuss the importance of ending the war in Gaza, ways to chart a post-conflict plan for the Palestinian enclave, and how to reach a diplomatic solution to the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
