Chicago White Sox majority owner Jerry Reinsdorf is open to selling the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, according to The Athletic. The 88-year-old bought the White Sox for about US$20 million in 1981, making him the second-longest owner in MLB behind the Steinbrenner family, who acquired the New York Yankees in 1973.

In what could be a game-changing move for the Chicago White Sox, owner Jerry Reinsdorf is reportedly in “active discussions” to sell the franchise to a group led by former MLB pitcher Dave Stewart, according to Brittany Ghiroli of The Athletic.
