After two and a half years, the family of Jimmie “Jay” Lee, an Ole Miss student who went missing in 2022, can finally have some closure and put their loved one to rest properly. The Oxford Police Department and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office have confirmed the recovery of Lee’s remains.

Authorities have confirmed the recovery and identification of Jimmie “Jay” Lee's remains in Carroll County.

The Oxford Police Department and the Carroll County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Wednesday that human remains found last week are those of Ole Miss student Jimmie "Jay" Lee. The remains were discovered Saturday, Feb. 1, by deer hunters.

A necklace similar to one the missing Ole Miss student was known to wear was discovered along with the remains.
