At least two workers at a Houston-area oil refinery were killed when hydrogen sulfide leaked at the plant, setting off urgent warnings for nearby residents to stay indoors before authorities determined the public wasn't in danger.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed in an evening press conference that the hydrogen sulfide release killed two people and injured several others.

A Mexican state-owned energy company is being sued by three of its workers after they were injured following a gas leak.
