Despite traveling from Boston to New York and playing two games in as many days, the Bruins didn’t make excuses for their slow start and the mistakes in the third that ultimately led to their demise.

The Boston Bruins lost to the New York Rangers by a 3-2 final score at Madison Square on February 5. It was a deflating loss for the Bruins, who had a 2-1 lead at the start of the third but threw it away. Rangers forward Chris Kreider's game-winning goal came on a Bruins power play, adding salt to the wound.
