The retailer is eliminating several jobs and closing its Charlotte office as it relocates employees to its main hub in Arkansas.

Walmart Inc.'s (NYSE: WMT) move to close its corporate office in Charlotte this year will impact more than 250 employees.

Walmart is closing its regional office in Charlotte as the retail giant consolidates its corporate offices nationally. Walmart has asked some of its office-based workers to relocate to its headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, and Sunnyvale, California, the retailer said in a memo emailed to The Charlotte Observer late Tuesday.
