U.S. health insurer Cigna Group has revived efforts to merge with smaller rival Humana after abandoning the pursuit late last year, Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Cigna had previously called off a merger in 2023, citing the two companies couldn't come to an agreement on price and other financial terms.

Last December, the two companies failed to agree on a price as Cigna pursued the purchase of the Louisville-based company.
