Healey’s office called the partnership a “groundbreaking agreement,” and it will deliver automatic discounts for those receiving MassHealth, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Transitional Aid to Families with Dependent Children, and Emergency Aid to the Elderly, Disabled, and Children.

The Healey administration has launched a new initiative to ensure low-income residents who are eligible for utility discounts actually receive them. MassHealth members and DTA clients will now automatically receive utility discounts of up to 25 percent on natural gas expenses and 42 percent on electric expenses without having to submit additional paperwork.
