Kroger Health announces new agreement with Express Scripts
According to Reuters, the grocery retailer notified Express Scripts in September 2022 of its plan to terminate the pharmacy provider agreement for commercial customers because of an “unsustainable” pricing model. Later that year, Kroger Health contracted with Prime Therapeutics, the PBM owned by Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
The agreement covers Medicare Part D and Tricare plans. Kroger Health operates over 2,200 pharmacies in 35 states.
