Point-in-time count finds 122 unhoused people in Nelson
14 hours ago · A survey conducted last November shows a growing homeless population in Nelson, almost all of whom are longtime residents of the city. The point-in-time count by the Nelson Committee on Homelessness, which is a requirement for communities that receive federal funding, was conducted on Nov. 7 and supplanted by a survey that received responses during a three-week period.

UPDATE: Fruitvale woman dies after Trail vehicle incident
Jan 15, 2025 · A Trail motor vehicle incident has claimed the life of a 38-year-old Fruitvale woman. According to an RCMP statement, Trail officers received a report at 11:39 p.m. on Jan. 9 that a woman had fallen out of a vehicle and sustained a life-threatening injury in the 100 block of Rossland Avenue.
